Olivia Rodrigo has revealed she suffered a wave of panic moments before her 2025 Glastonbury headline set.
The 23-year-old singers' friends wrongly warned her the crowd was barely there.
Speaking on Apple Music’s The Zane Lowe Show, she admitted the minutes before stepping on stage were anything but glamorous, describing a backstage moment that briefly sent nerves spiralling out of control.
“Honestly… oh God, Glastonbury was the best,” she said, before recalling the chaotic build-up.
Her friends, already in position near the stage, began messaging her in alarm.
“Five minutes before I went on, the field wasn’t even a quarter full because everyone was coming from another thing,” she explained.
“They were like, ‘Oh my God, no one came to see Olivia’s set.’ Everyone was freaking out.”
In reality, the apparent emptiness had nothing to do with a lack of interest, but rather the classic Glastonbury shuffle, with crowds still moving between stages.
Still, Rodrigo admitted that in the moment it felt “terrifying”.
She even joked afterwards about the less-than-flattering visuals, “Kill the drone shot. Kill the drone shot.”
But once the audience finally flooded in, the atmosphere completely shifted.
The deja vu singer said the performance quickly became one of the most emotional and unforgettable nights of her career, with the energy turning “incredible” almost instantly.
