Sabrina Carpenter has finally addressed the criticism she has been receiving over particular moment from her 2026 Coachella performance.

During the concert in Indio California on Friday, April 10, the 25-year-old was sitting at a piano and about to introduce her song We Almost Broke Up Again Last Night when a fan made a loud sound and the singer acknowledged it.

“I think I heard someone yodel. Is that what you’re doing? I don’t like it,” the Manchild singer stated before the Coachella goer explained “It’s my culture,” to which Sabrina responded “That’s your culture, is yodeling?”

The concert attendee then said that it was a call of celebration after which the Grammy winner compared Coachella to Burning Man and called it weird.

Since then, clips of the moment have raked up millions of views and social media users identified the fan’s cultural call as 'zaghrouta,' a traditional Arabic expression of joy and celebration, commonly used at weddings and parties.

One internet user took to X to slam Sabrina, writing that she disappointed them by saying that she didn’t like the cultural Arabic cheer which they called insensitive and islamophobic.

The singer responded, “my apologies i didn’t see this person with my eyes and couldn’t hear clearly. my reaction was pure confusion, sarcasm and not ill intended.”

Sabrina added, “could have handled it better! now i know what a Zaghrouta is! I welcome all cheers and yodels from here on out.”

Notably, other netizens believe that she did not say anything disrespectful, and that it was alright for the singer to not like things and that the interaction was being blown out of proportion.
