KATSEYE has been in the headlines for the hiatus of their band member Manon after topping charts with their hit tracks.
The musicians released a new track Pinky Up that did not sit well with the streamers and was scrutinised for weak lyrics and performance.
After the group performed the song at the Coachella 2026 stage, the track began to garner massive attention from the online community and fans.
An Instagram user added fire to the fuel as they shared a side by side comparison of the song with BLACKPINK’s Jump and MEET HER AT THE LOVE PARADE.
They penned down in the caption: “How come KATSEYE ‘Pinky Up’ sounds so familiar.” One of the netizen was of the opinion that the track “make[s] no sense.”
Another user blamed the fans for letting Gnarly and Internet Girl “slide so now we get more skibidi toilet music.”
A third fan was of the opinion that this “can’t beat BLACKPINK.”
This came after Manon’s hiatus caused controversy and was considered a permanent exit from the band due to internal issues.
Meanwhile, their label announced that the group will have one less member as the 23-year-old wanted some time off and is facing health problems which require rest.
