KATSEYE, with members Manon, Daniela, Yoonchae, Lara, Megan and Sophia, head out to their The Beautiful Chaos tour.
On their first concert in Minneapolis, Minn, the group decided to debut a new track Internet Girl after immense popularity of Gnarly and Gabriela.
Although fans had high hopes, the new release seemingly did not sit well with the music lovers after the video went viral on the internet.
One of the X users pointed out that it “sounds like a rejected BLACKPINK song,” while another was of the opinion that it resembles “every other K-pop girl group trying too hard.”
A netizen criticised the band for the melody, claiming that it might be “cooked in a boardroom, not a studio” as it is “a manufactured chaos for fans to scream at.”
On the other hand, fans applauded this “bold” move to debut a melody live with one user gushing that it is exciting and “already feels like a hit.”
It is to be noted that their admirers might grow to like the track as was the case with Gnarly, which was initially blasted for "cringe" lyrics. However, it became popular amongst influencers.
However, their tracks are considered catchy as Touch garnered over 500 million streams on Spotify, followed by Gabriela (400 million) and Gnarly (300 million).
This came after the girls went viral for their denim ad of GAP, which was seen as a response to the controversial American Eagle campaign featuring Sydney Sweeny.
