Rachel Zegler and Ben Platt have revealed plans to release a live album of The Last Five Years, following their recent stage performances.
The duo recorded the album during their limited London run at the London Palladium, after a sold out residency. The project is set to arrive on April 20.
They officially shared the announcement with audiences during curtain call at their Hollywood Bowl show in Los Angeles on Friday, April 3.
Ben said, "This is a very short and wonderful experience we did, of just one week in London and we’ve got just two shows in New York."
He added, "And we were all so sad to see it go and really wanted to immortalize this amazing experience and incredible score."
Moreover, he stated, "So we’re very excited to announce right here, right now, available for pre-order right now when we finish, there’s a live album that we recorded at the London Palladium.”
Notably, the shows were led and directed by Jason Robert Brown, marking the show’s 25th anniversary milestone.
The plot follows two young New Yorkers in a five year relationship, with Cathy’s journey shown backward and Jamie’s moving forward.
