Kanye West, also known as Ye, wife Bianca Censori recently spilled the tea on directing her husband’s new music video.

In her latest interview with Architectural Digest, the rapper’s wife revealed that in her directorial debut of Ye and Travis Scott’s new song, Father’s music video, she reached a new milestone as a first-time director.

“As my directorial debut, it felt like a natural extension of my background in architecture and performance art,” said the 31-year-old.

The architect and artist pointed out, “Directing is not a departure for me, but a shift in medium, I'm still shaping space, bodies and emotion, it’s just articulated through film.”

Interestingly, Bianca shared that she wanted to capture the video, which was set in a church, in a single shot, “constructing a logic that could only exist within a dream, where unrelated characters, worlds and temporalities collide within one continuous space”.

“Because of this, the architecture of the set was critical,” explained the rapper’s wife.

Bianco told the outlet, “A single frame had to hold and give structure to everything unfolding within it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, she opened up about directing music video for Kanye.

“I approached the blocking architecturally, allowing multiple scenarios to be viewed simultaneously within the same space,” she remarked.

Bianca added, “Every element, line, perspective, colour and texture was composed to dissolve the boundary between reality and the surreal, creating a spatial language that mirrors the logic of dreams.”
