Chad Michael Murray set the record straight about his co-stars, Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff feud.
The Freaky Friday actress and A Cinderella Story star, in 2003 had a simmering fight between them linked to the fact that they both dated Aaron Carter.
A month after Duff revealed that it was Murray who invited her to the Freaky Friday premiere, the Gilmore Girls actor now reflected on his accidental involvement in the drama.
In his appearance on the Virgin Radio Toronto's Daryn & Deepa Mornings, he admitted that he was clueless about the tension between the two actresses.
"How was I supposed to know there was a feud? I found out quickly after,” he said.
Sharing what lead him to invite Duff at the screening, he recalled the A Cinderella Story production pushing them to spend the time together so that they both feel more comfortable while filming the final shot.
Hence he asked her to be at the premiere because, "There was no free time. And by the way, I didn't understand that there was drama or that that would even cause a thing."
Justifying his actions, the One Tree Hill star added, "Nowadays, I can understand that we're so in the know with social media that you're like, 'Oh, if you do that, it's obvious."
He continued, "Back then, it wasn't obvious that it was a thing. I just thought two people are going to go hang out, cool. It's awesome. It wasn't anything."
The rift between last for approximately five years. Since squashing the beef both, Duff and Lohan, has spoken fondly of each other over the years.
