Abel Tesfaye, who goes by his famous alter ego The Weekend, convinced everyone that he is still in the game with latest move.

The 36-year-old singer released his sixth studio record Hurry Up Tomorrow which was declared a commercial success.

While the Grammy winner hinted at retiring the alter ego, Abel is hinting at his upcoming project as he went for a major update.

The Blinding Lights hitmaker shared a picture of himself with a duck on his shoulder, rocking a baseball cap.

He then made the photograph his display picture on Instagram, changing it a year since the release of Hurry Up Tomorrow.

Abel added to the anticipation by wiping out his TikTok account, leaving his fans guessing about his next move.

Although it is evident that the musician is working on a new studio record, he is yet to address if the tracks will release under "The Weekend" moniker.


This came after the musician finalised a deal for his music discography with timeless hits and record-breaking tracks.

However, The Popular crooner still owns the rights of his music and creative control of the collection.

This unique model was proposed to accommodate his conditions which will not apply to any music released in the future.
