Dakota Johnson 'playing the field' months after ending 8 year romance: Reports

Dakota Johnson is taking her time when it comes to love, months after confirming her split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Based on latest key findings, the 36-year-old Materialists star is "playing the field at the moment."

According to the source of People, "she’s been seen with singer-songwriter Role Model in December and January, it’s all casual."

Meanwhile, the actress and the Yellow hitmaker ended their on-and-off relationship in June 2025 after nearly eight years of romance together.

The two were first connected in 2017 and last seen together in May 2025 in Malibu, California. 

According to the insiders, she is currently focusing on herself, enjoying a calmer and freer period of her life.

Professionally, she has an exciting year ahead, featuring in the cinematic adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Verity, hitting theaters October 2.

She’s also stepping behind the camera for the first time to direct A Tree Is Blue, which will feature Jessica Alba and Charli XCX.

Additionally, she is also the face of Calvin Klein’s Spring 2026 campaign, which launched on March 9.

In an interview with Elle, Dakota described her recent collaboration with the brand as a perfect fit for her current stage in life.
