Ryan Gosling, who is known for his role in La La Land, took the Saturday Night Live stage and brought a unique twist to his monologue.
The 45-year-old actor was expected to be in the spotlight until Harry Styles stepped in and seemingly hijacked the segment with his charm.
After being troubled by the pop icon’s appearance, the Hollywood star attempted to sing Signs of The Times by Harry during his monologue.
Before singing the track, he admitted that the track is poignant and “anthem of our generation.” The Blade Runner 2049 star joked: “Nobody wants this.”
He added statements in between the lyrics, gushing: “It’s probably my final show,” requesting to get the Watermelon Sugar singer “off the screen.”
Ryan, who earned a nomination for best supporting actor in 2024, sat down and recalled his iconic performance of I’m Just Ken at the Oscars that year, singing to the Barbie cast.
However, most of the cast of SNL jumped in to give a helping hand to the A-list star and have a “look at” the One Direction alum.
Although the stars at the show were in high spirits, the online community was not happy with the monologue.
One of the X users was left confused on “why they made Gosling’s monologue all about” the musician, calling Ryan “comedy gold actor right there.”
The Barbie star’s hosting of the show comes before the release of his new sci-fi film Project Hail Mary.
The plot of the project, coming out on March 20, revolves around a middle school teacher and his struggles his mission to save humanity.
