Ryan Gosling is unabashedly overestimating one of the aspects of his involvement in the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live.
The La La Land actor appeared in the promo before the show to mark his return to hosting in which he is instantly drawn to and wearing a robe embroidered with the number five, which he puts on before walking around like he owns the place.
“This has never happened before,” the caption read over the clip, in which the Drive actor sports sunglasses, a smile and breaks the rules, including strangling a cast member, lighting a cigarette indoors and setting an image of Mikey Day on fire.
Gosling is literally on a high horse, although stuffed when the writer interrupts him to ask “Dude, what the hell are you doing?”
“Five-timers club, Michael,” the Barbie star stated with a smirk to which Mikey explained to him that it was actually his fourth time hosting and not the fifth like he assumed.
Gosling made his debut on Dec. 5, 2015; his second appearance on Sept. 30, 2017; and his most recent hosting gig was on April 13, 2024. He made one additional cameo on April 6, 2024, which is something him and Mikey went over in the clip.
Eventually, the Canadian actor admitted that he had a lot to think about, but didn’t give up the robe or the jacket as he left.
