Daniel Radcliffe opened up about when he is going to reveal to his son that he was Harry Potter.
Radcliffe starred as titular character from 2022 to 2011 in the movie franchise along with Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. He then became a father in April 2023 after his girlfriend gave birth to a son.
The Weird: The AI Yankovic Story star explained why he's trying to stop his son from connecting him to the project for as long as possible.
In an interview with The New York Times, the Jungle actor shared that his son doesn’t know about his Harry Potter role, and neither he is interested in his son knowing about it.
He said that once somebody gave him a DVD to sign and it was left at the kitchen table for a couple days until his son came across it.
Asking his son about the who the bespectacled boy is on the DVD cover, Radcliffe was relieved to know that his son was clueless.
"He didn't [recognize me], which is great," he said. "For as long as I can just be his dad, and he won't know me as anything else, I will maintain that for as long as I can."
He further shared that he wouldn't necessarily shy away from reading J.K. Rowling's Potter books to his son if he ever shows interest in the series.
Meanwhile, for watching the adaptation, the British star said that he will rather show him the upcoming series than his own film.
Radcliffe will soon return to the Broadway stage with Every Little Thing, a one-man play that hinges on voluntary audience participation.
