Teyana Taylor couldn’t hide her excitement when she met Hollywood legend Julia Roberts at this year’s Golden Globes.
The 35-year-old actress tells PEOPLE she was “starstruck” when the Pretty Woman actress walked toward her on the red carpet.
“I looked, and I started backing up and my eyes was watering,” Taylor recalls.
“I said, ‘Don’t come an inch closer.’ And she was coming closer, and then I just dived into her arms. It was just so amazing.”
The sweet moment didn’t end there as when One Battle After Another star won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Perfidia, Roberts reportedly jumped up to celebrate with her.
“I just dived into her arms again,” Taylor gushes.
“We was like instant besties. She’s my bestie in my head, even if she don’t know it.”
All's Fair star also opened up about the perks of the awards circuit, revealing she’s formed close friendships with Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac, whom she calls her “award besties.”
On the music front, Taylor admits she’s grateful for advice from her own idols.
Beyoncé, she says, taught her to “invest in yourself” and not take anything personally in the industry.
“If Beyoncé is this way, grounded and humble, this is the way I need to be,” she adds.
