Pop superstar Charli XCX has revealed she’s completely ditched the idea of keeping her wedding wardrobe locked away for “best", and admits she wears one of her bridal looks “all the time”.
The 33-year-old singer married George Daniel in July last year, with the couple celebrating across a string of glamorous events in London and later Sicily.
But instead of treating her designer wedding outfits as sacred keepsakes, Charli says she’s been reworking them into her everyday wardrobe.
Speaking in a video for British Vogue, she said she refuses to separate “pop star clothes” from “daily clothes”, insisting fashion should be lived in, not preserved like a museum piece.
Notably, one of her standout afterparty looks, a cream Saint Laurent ruffled mini dress, has already become a regular favourite.
Charli laughed that she’s worn it “all the time” since the wedding, including on stage even before she officially tied the knot.
She also recalled performing with Air at a festival in Paris in the same outfit she later wore for pre-wedding celebrations, shrugging off the idea that bridal fashion must be off-limits once the big day is over.
Looking ahead, she’s even planning to remix her Sicilian wedding gown, a dreamy ivory silk creation, into something more flexible.
Th 360 hitmaker explained she wants to “deconstruct” it so it can be worn in different ways, turning it into separate pieces with detachable elements.
The singer said she finds it strange that expensive, one-of-a-kind dresses are expected to be worn only once, adding she feels lucky to collaborate with designers and wants to enjoy the pieces properly.
