Hollywood’s celebration of achievement on February 7 in Beverly Hills took on an emotional tone as Rogen and Goldberg honored their late The Studio co-star, Catherine O’Hara, who died on January 30 at age 71 following a brief illness.

The Apple TV+ series, a satirical look at the entertainment industry, won the coveted comedy-series award, but the moment was overshadowed by the absence of O’Hara, who played the formidable studio executive Patty Leigh in the show’s first season.

During their acceptance speech, Rogen described O’Hara as a pivotal influence on his career, recalling how her performance in Home Alone inspired him to pursue filmmaking and fondly sharing humorous anecdotes from their time on set.

“There’s no one we wish we could thank in person more than Catherine O’Hara,” he said, adding that she exemplified “an utter genius and also the nicest person in the entire world.”

According to Daily Mail, Goldberg echoed those sentiments, calling her “our idol since we were children.”

O’Hara’s acclaimed work spanned decades, from Schitt’s Creek to iconic film roles, and earned her an Emmy nomination for her performance in The Studio

Moreover, her passing has drawn widespread tributes from several colleagues and fans.
