Kendrick Lamar has officially snatched up the title previously held by Jay-Z at the 2026 Grammys, which became a testament to the rapper’s craft.

The Humble rapper is now the artist with the most Grammy wins, since his winning streak from last year carried on to this one.

During the ceremony, the Not Like Us hit maker was the most nominated with nine nods under his belt, and won in a whopping five categories.

Kendrick won best rap song for TV Off, best rap performance for his contribution to Clipse's Chains & Whips.

He also won best rap album for GNX with his duet with SZA on Luther winning the duo the record of the year and best melodic rap performance categories.

The Euphoria rapper said during his acceptance speech for GNX, “It's hip-hop as usual, man, I’m not good at talking about myself, but I express it through the music. It's an honor to be here, Tyler, the Clipse. Like, these are my brothers to be in this category.”

"What's up, Push, man? Malice, man? Every time I tell you this: hip-hop is gonna always be right here...We gon’ be having the culture with us. So I appreciate y'all. God is the glory. Love y'all,” Kendrick continued.

The previous record for most Grammy wins was held by another hip-hop icon, Jay-Z with his 25 award wins over the years.

Notably, Kendrick has now surpassed him in being that titleholder with his 27 gramophones, rewriting hip-hop history.
