December 10, made of seven members, have officially started out as a band with their first-ever song, igniting a fierce debate online.

The singers debuted their track and fans cannot stop comparing it to One Direction (1D), band which was also formed by Simon Cowell.

Run My Way was called out to be a strip off of 1D discography as one of the X users shared: “They wanna be one direction soo bad it’s embarrassing.”

Another netizen was of the opinion that the singers are “trying to reheat One Direction nachos,” while a third criticised: “What is this Disney channel a** song?”

As the name suggests, the boy band was lined up on December 10, 2025 on Simon’s Netflix docuseries The Next Act.

It is to be noted that the documentary released on the launch date of the new singers, sending shockwaves.

It consists of the following members Cruz, Danny, Hendrik, John, Josh, Nicolas and Sean, selected after top 16 musicians made it to the final round.

All the members chosen are teenagers and young adults, aspiring to grow in the music world in the coming years.

What was Simon Cowell and One Direction controversy?

The 66-year-old faced backlash for his reported exploitation of Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.

The controversy was renewed by 1D fandom as many recalled the prevalent narrative about the English TV personality pushing young talent beyond their limits.
