Goldie Hawn recounted the moment that clicked her daughter, Kate Hudson, was destined to be a performer.

On January 13, Goldie Hawn moderated a Q&A for Song Sung Blue with her daughter.

The American actress and film producer marked that she recognised the 46-year-old's talent when she was just 3 years old.

“You were on your tricycle, and you were 3 years old, and you were like this,” Hawn recalled, striking a dramatic “look at me!” pose.

“That was it. I mean, and that's when I knew you're also a performer,” she added.

Hawn proceeded to mention that the Golden Globe nominee was raised around filmmaking and was a standout at a young age.

“You’ve obviously come from two people who make movies,” Hawn said, explaining that her daughter’s passion was evident from her “first picture” as a toddler.

Going back to how Hudson became an actor, Hawn has underlined that her talent lay in sincerity and devotion to the art.

“It’s really quite something to witness your child show such extraordinary ability,” Hawn said. “It’s definitely talent, but it’s also integrity. Integrity in your work. I didn’t detect one lie in your work. You were so immersed.”

Hudson, who made her film debut in Desert Blue in 1998, credited her mother with instilling discipline and respect for acting from an early age.

“You’re the one who instilled this in me,” Hudson said. “From the outside, it might feel like growing up with parents like you and Pa makes things easy, but you were actually the opposite.”

“This is a craft. You take this seriously,” Hudson added. “You’ve said that to me from a very early age.”

Moreover, Hudson recalled that even during her teenage years, Hawn kept her focused through consistent training in theatre, acting, piano, and dance.

“That discipline, even when I didn’t want to be doing it, becomes the thing you appreciate as you get older,” Hudson said.

“You never take for granted the privilege of having a mother who made you take art seriously," she concluded.
