Prince Jackson is opening up about his father Michael Jackson and his experience with the newly released documentary Michael.
The late icon shared two children, the 29-year-old and Paris Jackson with Debbie Rowe, and he has spoken about an emotional moment he had when he saw his cousin Jaafar Jackson transformed into the Thriller singer for the movie.
In an interview with ABC, the producer stated “I think that my father is probably one of the most misunderstood people out there,” and that he hoped people would get a glimpse into the things that made the star who he was.
Prince called the experience of watching his father’s story unfold with Michael made him closer to it and added that he had the benefit of reliving it with his cousin on set.
“The first time that I saw him [Jaafar] in person in his hair and makeup was really an emotional shock and to see him, because I had not seen my father in a long time. Jafar just embodied him and brought him back in that moment, and it was difficult to maintain and keep composure…” he added.
Prince continued that he just wanted to give Jaafar a hug but had to tell him that he was proud and that he needed to take a step outside.
The actor’s eyes glistened as he recalled the moment that the Got Me Singing singer transformed into his father for the biopic.
