Khloe Kardashian’s ex caught up in weapons charge drama

Khloe Kardashian’s former flame James Harden has found himself making headlines for all the wrong reasons after being arrested on a weapons charge in Texas.

The 36-year-old NBA star, who currently plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was taken into custody on Saturday after police allegedly discovered a handgun inside his vehicle during a traffic stop. 

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, officers claim the weapon was being carried in plain view and was not secured in a holster.

James was charged with a misdemeanour offence of unlawfully carrying a weapon. 

He was later released after posting a $100 bond and is due to appear in court on June 22.

The Cleveland Cavaliers quickly addressed the incident, revealing they are gathering more information before making any further comment.

In a statement, a team representative said, “The Cleveland Cavaliers are aware of the arrest of James Harden this morning and are in the process of gathering additional information. 

We are in contact with James and his representation and will continue to monitor developments as they become available.”

While the basketball star’s legal troubles are now grabbing attention, many fans will remember him for his high-profile romance with reality TV favourite Khloe. 

The pair dated between 2015 and 2016 before calling it quits amid a very public fallout.

The Kardashian star later alleged that infidelity played a role in their split, claiming she had “receipts” to back up her accusations. 

However, James strongly denied the claims and insisted the intense spotlight surrounding their relationship was the real problem.

Speaking previously, the athlete admitted he struggled with the constant media attention, saying he felt his private life was being scrutinised for “no reason” and that the celebrity spotlight simply “wasn’t me”.
