Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had a relaxed night out in New York City, watching Oh, Mary! at the Lyceum Theatre.
On Saturday, June 13, the couple arrived after the show had already begun, the videos circulating on social media showed them sharing laughs throughout the performance, with the American football player frequently leaning in toward the Opalite hitmaker during comedic moments.
At one point, the show’s lead Maya Rudolph appeared to reference the NFL player’s presence in the crowd with a playful line about audience members needing to leave for “a game,” which drew a strong reaction from the Grammy winner.
During the curtain call, the pop icon stood up passionately, raising her arms in a full standing ovation, with the athlete joining her as the rest of the theatre followed.
Following the performance, the pair went backstage to meet the cast as well as the director and producers, before exiting hand in hand.
The outing comes shortly after the I Knew It, I Knew You singer’s visit to an NBA game at Madison Square Garden, which caused debate on social media about her basketball fandom.
ESPN personality Monica McNutt later addressed the discussion, saying, “She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl,” she was heard saying in a clip that went viral.
The following day, the American sports analyst took it back while speaking to TMZ Sports after being shown old photos of Swift wearing Knicks merchandise over the years, noting, “I misspoke. I did not know.”
