Will Smith accuser hinted at scandal before explosive legal action

Will Smith is at the centre of a shocking new legal storm after a world-famous violinist accused the Hollywood superstar of sexual harassment linked to his global tour.

Brian King Joseph, a professional violinist known for blending classical music with pop performances, has filed a lawsuit against the 57-year-old actor, and Treyball Studios Management in Los Angeles Superior Court. 

The complaint, submitted on Tuesday, December 30, alleges sexual harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation during Smith’s Based on a True Story tour in March 2025. 

Joseph claims the Men in Black actor “deliberately groomed and primed” him for further sexual exploitation.

Days before taking legal action, Joseph appeared to publicly hint at the allegations in a cryptic Instagram video shared on Christmas Day. 

Without naming Smith, the musician revealed he had been hired for what he called a “major, major tour” with a powerful industry figure, describing it as a career-defining moment that later took a deeply troubling turn.

“I can’t get into the details because it’s already a legal issue,” he told fans, adding that being punished for reporting sexual misconduct or safety concerns “is not okay”.

In the lawsuit, Joseph alleges he discovered signs that someone had entered his Las Vegas hotel room without forced entry, leaving behind items he interpreted as a sexual threat. 

After reporting the incident to hotel staff, police and tour management, he claims he was shamed and later fired, with another violinist brought in to replace him.

It' worth noting that Smith’s attorney has strongly denied the allegations, calling them “false and baseless”, and insisting the actor will vigorously defend himself as the case unfolds.
