Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet brace for award season rivalry

The year 2025 was rich for movies as masses flocked to cinemas to watch blockbuster projects of the year.

Two of the films from this year now are being shortlisted as many experts’ top picks to sweep the upcoming award season.

The two projects are One Battle After Another and Marty Supreme.

The movies have unintentionally set the stage for an amusing rivalry between Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothee Chalamet.

Leo’s character Bob in the Paul Thomas Anderson comedy drama was regarded as the best performance of the year when it came out in September.

But Timothee’s passionate table tennis player has quickly turned the tides in his favour setting the award season up for an interesting showdown between the 51-year-old and the 29-year-old.

Ahead of the release of Marty Supreme, Timothee’s promotional campaign is being regarded as one of the best ever in recent times depicting how hungry the rising star is to sweep the award season.

While Leo is an established Hollywood legend who already has one Oscar in the bag, Timothee is the promising young boy who might score his first Academy.
