Olivia Wilde has revealed that even Tom Cruise was left stunned by the moment she was served custody papers live on stage at CinemaCon.
The 63-year-old legendary actor called the ordeal “f***** up” in a blunt show of support.
Notably, this took place when the 42-year-old actress and director was on stage in Las Vegas in April 2022 promoting her psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling when a woman suddenly stepped forward and handed her legal documents.
It later emerged the papers related to her custody arrangement with former partner Jason Sudeikis over their two children, Otis, 12, and Daisy, nine.
Although phones were banned inside the venue, but the shocking moment still managed to leak out and quickly went viral once details emerged.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Wilde admitted she was left deeply shaken.
“It was one of the most f***** up things I’ve been through,” she said.
Furthermore, explaining she pushed through her presentation in a daze before breaking down backstage.
Tron: Legacy actress added she initially believed no one had seen her distress, until months later when she met Cruise, who reportedly told her straight: “Hi, I’m Tom. F***** up what happened to you in Vegas.”
Despite the humiliation, Olivia said the experience ultimately made her stronger, admitting, “Once you get through something like that, you feel like you can get through anything.”
She also reflected on the legal fallout with Sudeikis, noting she now believes he may not have known when or where she would be served.
