Anna Faris opened up about her experience on the long running sitcom Mom, reflecting on both the highlights and the challenges during her seven season run before exiting the series.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, the actress praised the production and her colleagues but admitted the demanding schedule eventually took a toll.

“I do think the intensity, towards the end, I think I started to lose my focus,” she stated, describing the job as a marathon.  

“I never had a job besides waitressing for over three months before,” the 49-year-old revealed.

Addressing her departure, she noted, “It was a complicated time,” while adding she prefers not to go too deeply into the reasons behind leaving the show at this stage.

 “I’m always hesitant to really chew into my experience on ‘Mom’ because seven years is a huge chunk of time,” she said, calling it an “intense, amazing project.”

Moreover, she explained that she joined the Chuck Lorre series after being drawn to its pilot and the appeal of long-term stability in comedy.

“It was a really funny pilot, a really interesting pilot,” she noted. ‘

Furthermore, she reflected warmly on the live audience, describing them as the “happiest live audience you can imagine.”

She added that fans still approach her today, saying, “I feel really moved that I’ve touched lives.”
