Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been urged to make one major change if they want to improve their increasingly “dismal” public image.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have faced sustained criticism over their post-royal rebrand. Now, a PR expert believes the solution lies in fully embracing the Hollywood lifestyle they appear to straddle.
Last month, Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, were photographed arriving arm-in-arm at Kris Jenner’s lavish 007-themed birthday party in Beverly Hills — a move that reignited debate about their public positioning.
According to PR expert Rhea Freeman, the couple should stop sitting on the fence and instead “fully lean into” celebrity culture.
Speaking to the Express, Freeman said: “Personally, I feel that they should fully lean into the Hollywood side of life - embrace social media fully rather than just as and when it’s needed, and give people who want to like them a chance to get to know them better in a less edited way.”
“Take inspiration from the successful reality stars of Hollywood- the Kardashians being a prime example - and learn some lessons there. I appreciate that for a long time the couple have asked for privacy, but their actions don’t echo this.”
“I feel the best course of action would be to really lean into it as I feel that more opportunities - maybe even better headlines - could come from that in the long term.”
The exclusive party, hosted at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Beverly Hills mansion, was attended by a host of A-listers including Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Mariah Carey.
However, those images were swiftly removed after representatives for the Sussexes reportedly asked for them to be taken down.
According to Page Six, the couple requested the deletion because they “don’t want to [expletive] off the Royal Family.”
