Benny Blanco, who got married to Selena Gomez, gushed about The Marias as he revealed being a fan of the group himself.
While speaking at the Variety’s Hitmakers 2025, the 37-year-old playfully admitted being “jealous” as they stay true to their style since 2000s.
According to the Eastside crooner, the songs are “so good” that he ends up feeling envious for not making them.
Benny was of the opinion that The Marias “just make everything so easy” and easily aces projects within shorter time.
Despite being a creative genius himself, he appreciated the group with a unique compliment: “Something that takes them five seconds is something that would take me six to eight weeks to make.”
The Grammy nominee made the speech before honouring the pop band with Anti-Hit Hitmakers of the Year award at the prestigious event.
The Marias are known for creating a perfect blend of English and Spanish with different genres ranging from R&B, retro, psych-rock to jazz.
Benny suited up for the event as he opted for a lighter palette for the programme after spending a cosy evening with wife Selena ahead of holiday season.
While the record producer is not working on any music project, the couple released their collaborative album I Said I Love You First. The studio record ranked amongst the top 10 in many places around the world.
