Prince William, Kate Middleton's true state of marriage revealed in candid moment

Prince William and Princess Kate may have been handling one of the most formal duties on the royal calendar this week, but fans were quick to notice sparks of something far more revealing between the future king and queen.

As the Prince and Princess of Wales stepped into their high-profile role welcoming German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Budenbender on Wednesday, a body language expert says the couple displayed a pair of “bold” tells that show exactly where their relationship stands.

Judi James, speaking to the Express, said images from the official welcome at Windsor captured two “very strong” indicators that William and Kate were completely in sync, and enjoying each other’s company despite the formality of the moment.

She explained: "Catherine’s smile entails dimples plus a tongue that has appeared between her teeth to the side of her mouth, which hints at high levels of inner fun."

“William's laugh here includes edge-to-edge teeth, which also signals how the couple are at the same level of playful enjoyment.”

The expert said one moment in particular said it all: “William's intense face-gazing behaviour as he looks at his wife shows just how finely-tuned they are to each other's non-verbal signals and how strong his enjoyment is to be prompting what looks like a very carefree smile from her.”

Later that evening, the couple dialled up the glamour at the state banquet inside Windsor Castle.

Kate stunned in a shimmering Jenny Packham gown with cape detailing, and in a diplomatic nod to their German guests, she chose Queen Victoria's Oriental Circlet Tiara originally designed by Prince Albert in 1853.
