Prince Andrew is reportedly causing fresh turbulence inside the Royal Family, with insiders claiming he’s locked in a new “feud” with King Charles over where, and how, he plans to live next.
The disgraced royal was expected to move into a property on the Sandringham Estate early next year. But that move may now be on ice, and sources say it's because Andrew has launched into a new round of demands.
According to The Daily Beast, Andrew is “reeling off demands and ultimatums” about his future living quarters, insisting he be given nothing short of a six- or seven-bedroom home, complete with full-time staff: a cook, gardener, housekeeper, driver, plus police protection.
A source told The Royalist: “Andrew has done exactly what has been asked of him, and he just wants to be left alone. He is giving up the lease on one of England’s finest houses and expects to be treated fairly.”
A former courtier didn’t mince words, hinting that money is the real motivator: “Andrew is essentially being bought out of the lease, so he will haggle over every last detail of the deal.”
This comes just after King Charles ordered that Andrew’s titles be “cancelled and annulled” and his name “erased” from the orders’ historic registers.
These honours had originally been bestowed by the late Queen, a clear signal that Charles is taking a drastically different approach.
This latest blow follows the removal of Andrew’s HRH style, his status as prince, and his Duke of York title being removed from the Roll of the Peerage for what the Palace called “serious lapses of judgment.”
