Prince Edward’s lease over his home of 26 years, Bagshot Park has been revealed.
The revelation has been made almost a month since his elder brother, Andrew, lost his royal titles and was notified to vacate the Royal Lodge.
The Duke and Duchess of York had been residing at the residence as they had lease over it till 2078.
As per a new report by The Times, the details of Duke of Edinburgh’s living situation at the royal residence has been made public.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh to Bagshot property in 1999 after their wedding in June.
Similar to Andrew, the report reveals that the couple has been paying peppercorn amount for the property.
The youngest brother of King Charles initially leased the property for 50 years for £5,000 a year in March 1998 and the sum went to £90,000 a year, per the National Audit Office.
Edward also paid £1.36 million for renovations and the Crown Estate covered the rest of the £3 million.
The only other condition set in the lease is that Edward can not profit from its sale.
Interestingly, Edwards kids can not inherit the lease.
