Sarah Paulson’s career path might not have followed the romantic-comedy blueprint she imagined as a teenager.
Still, the Emmy-winning actress has carved out a legendary niche all her own.
“Someone told me I looked like Julia Roberts, and that was all I needed to hear to decide this was what I wanted to do,” Paulson recalled speaking with Variety. “I dreamed of working with incredible directors like she was, but that wasn’t my journey.”
Instead, Paulson built a powerhouse résumé that includes American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Miss America, and American Gothic, earning her legions of fans worldwide and cementing her status as a star in her own right.
Her achievements will be celebrated on Dec. 2 when she receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, following her Tony win for Appropriate on Broadway.
Paulson also continues her collaboration with producer Ryan Murphy, starring in the current hit All’s Fair as well as upcoming projects including AHS 13 and Monster Season 4.
Reflecting on her journey, Paulson says she’s ready to dream even bigger. “I’m looking to be a little more fearless in terms of betting on myself,” she said. “If I take in everything I’ve accomplished as the truth, maybe the best is still ahead of me.”
