Oliver Hudson reveals his ritual Christmas duties in family

Oliver Hudson always has a grand Christmas with family, where everyone has their part in the decorations and celebrations, and decorating is his responsibility.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Hudson started with his mother, Goldie Hawn, noting that she “gets the house incredible, garlands everywhere and smells amazing.”

Starting with his duties, the Christmas Chronicles actor said, “We do ornaments. We bake cookies. We decorate the tree on Christmas Eve.”

Oliver added that he and his half-brother, Wyatt Russell, stand on the ladder and put up the lights.

Beside them, Kate Hudson, American actress and Oliver’s sister, has a special nickname, “Miss Holiday Spirit”, for always putting effort into gathering all the family members together.

“She always has onesies or PJs that are made with their names on them, or hats, or this, so she's the cohesive one,” Oliver explained. “She brings all of us together through these gifts that are all unique, yet all alike, so we're one unit. So everyone definitely has their part.”

But the most important role is played by Kurt Russell, whom Oliver affectionately calls 'Pa.' He is credited with passing down many of the family’s Christmas traditions to Oliver, Erinn, and their children, Wilder Brooks, Bodhi Hawn, and Rio Laura.
