Jodie Foster makes SURPRISING confession about her acting career

Jodie Foster has had a vivid Hollywood career spanning over 50 years, with two Academy Award wins, but she still wouldn’t choose to be an actor.

The 63-year-old made her debut in a TV commercial at 3 years old. She appeared in her first feature film when she was just 6 years old.

Speaking with Variety at the Marrakech Film Festival on Sunday, November 30, after receiving a tribute award, Foster had an enlightening conversation about her career.

“I would never have chosen to be an actor,” she said. “I don’t have the personality of an actor. I’m not somebody that wants to dance on a table and, you know, sing songs for people.”

The Oscar-winning actress called acting “a cruel job,” and said she had to go through it when she was so young, she barely remembers it. For Foster, acting is not her wheelhouse.

In fact, the Taxi Driver star said that if she were ever on a desert island, acting would probably be the last thing she would do, just trying to survive.

“I don’t know why anyone would want to be an actor now,” she added, “if they knew that in order to be excellent they would have to contend with being robbed of their life in a way.”
