James McAvoy has recently revisited the attachment with his X-Men costars, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
Notably, the three of them played roles in the major instalment, X-Men: Days of Future Past. The trio had played Shakespeare’s Macbeth on stage, which turned into an interesting bond.
The 46-year-old actor recounted a BTS while they were rehearsing for the movie, "I was getting hair extensions put in, and I went into the trailer, and I think Patrick was cooking and Sir Ian was sitting with his feet up in the recliner.”
He added, “I had just finished doing Macbeth on the West End in London,” during New York Comic Con.
The Split actor continued that McKellen called him and asked about his recent Macbeth stint, further insisting him to “do a bit” together as Stewart had done it as well.
Meanwhile, the Atonement star recalled that he had finished Macbeth two weeks ago and he “couldn’t remember a single line” while Stewart and McKellen were “like banging back and forward [their] favorite bits from Macbeth.”
The moment inspired McAvoy deeply as he noted, “It's just a different kind of actor, a different kind of machine.”
The Glass actor shared that able to build upon the previous actor who portrayed his character, despite existing competition between the two men.
McAvoy further quipped jokingly, “When they tell me that I was better than Patrick, that means so much. It really resonates with me.”
