Dame Judi Dench recently got candid about her ocular health, which is heartbreaking.

The 90-year-old is adjusting to the challenges of performing tasks that require fine or detailed vision due to advanced AMD.

The Oscar-award-winning star was diagnosed with the disease in 2012, and confessed that she can neither read nor watch television.

The Veteran actress appeared on ITV alongside longtime friend Ian McKellen and revealed that she "can't see anymore."

"I can't see," explained Dench. "I've got, you know, that thing."

McKellen, who starred opposite Dame in 1979's Macbeth, teased that people could still see her.

"Yes, and I can see your outline, and I know you so well," Dench replied, woefully, "But I can't recognise anybody anymore."

Moreover, in January, the GoldenEye star revealed her eye condition, describing the severity as she can't go out alone.

"Somebody will always be with me. I have to now because I can't see and I will walk into something or fall over," she said on Trinny Woodall's Fearless podcast.

"I'm not good at being on my own at all, nor would I be now. And fortunately, I don't have to now because I pretend to have no eyesight," she added with a laugh.

For the unfamiliar, age-related macular degeneration is a degenerative eye condition that affects the central part of the retina, leading to a loss of the ability to see fine details, read, or recognise faces.

Notably, the star will turn 91 on December 9.
