Vin Diesel is putting past tensions aside to celebrate Dwayne Johnson’s latest project, The Smashing Machine.

On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Diesel, 58, shared a photo of himself with Johnson on Instagram, praising the actor’s acclaimed portrayal of UFC legend Mark Kerr and highlighting his real-life friendship with the fighter.

“One of the greatest gifts in life isn’t something you can buy, it’s the relationships forged along the way,” Diesel wrote.

He recalled meeting Kerr when he first moved to California and described him as “genuinely one of the kindest, most warm-hearted people you will ever meet.”

Diesel also noted that Kerr helped him with physical training for the 2002 action film xXx. Turning to Johnson, Diesel acknowledged the challenges of maintaining a global public image.

“People don’t understand what it takes to uphold a global perception every single day,” he wrote, referencing the long-running feud between the two stars from 2016 to 2023 over creative differences on the Fast & Furious franchise.

Diesel added a personal touch, sharing how fans had once expressed a desire to see him work alongside Johnson.

“I remember asking our global family who they’d love to see me work with, and a woman named Jan left a comment saying her dream was for me to collaborate with Dwayne,” he said.

With his post, Diesel appears ready to celebrate friendship and respect, leaving past conflicts firmly in the rearview.
