Dwayne Johnson is set to be honored at the 8th American Black Film Festival Honors with the Entertainment Icon Award in February 2026.
The event is scheduled to take place on Feb. 16 at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, where the Jumanji star will receive the award presented by Nice Crowd.
“Dwayne Johnson is the very definition of an entertainment icon,” said Nice Crowd’s co-CEOs and presidents Jeff Friday and Nicole Friday.
The Nice Crowd authorities recognized Johnson’s exceptional career in sports entertainment as well as film and TV, becoming “one of the most influential and beloved figures in global culture.”
“His journey embodies the power of perseverance, authenticity, and charisma — values that reflect the spirit of ABFF,” they added.
Jeff and Nicole expressed their excitement to honor Johnson with the 2026 Entertainment Icon Award to celebrate his “incredible contributions to the world of entertainment.”
Johnson leads A24’s The Smashing Machine, directed by Benny Safdie, portraying MMA fighter Mark Kerr. The film chronicles Kerr’s meteoric rise in the sport alongside his struggle with addiction.
Emily Blunt co-stars as his supportive girlfriend. The movie made its debut in September at the Venice International Film Festival, where it took home the Silver Lion.
