George Clooney has always been learning from mistakes and failures, considering them helpful.
On Tuesday, November 11, at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie Jay Kelly, the actor spoke to PEOPLE about succeeding and making mistakes.
“You don't learn from succeeding,” Clooney said. “You learn from failing and then you have to figure it out along the way. It’s helpful.”
The actor further specified a failure that came to his mind at that time.
“Batman & Robin!” Clooney, who played DC Comics' Caped Crusader only once, in the 1997 film, said, adding sarcastically, “I learned a lot from that one.”
The Oscar-winner also reflected on the projects that he failed to book, one of which was with the five-time Academy Award winner, Francis Ford Coppola.
“I had a terrible audition for, and this will make you laugh, Francis Ford Coppola,” the actor revealed.
However, he didn’t disclose the Coppola project for which he auditioned, yet Clooney has it in his fresh memory.
“I thought I was very good in the audition and I called my agent. I said, ‘How'd it go?’ And they said they just got the message back from Francis Ford Coppola and he thought I was drunk, which I was not,” Clooney shared.
Instead, Clooney made it clear that he was “just very relaxed. I was on Percodan.
