Nicole Kidman stars in Prime Video’s upcoming series, ‘Scarpetta’
Prime Video has dropped the first look at its upcoming forensic crime series Scarpetta, with Nicole Kidman in the lead role as famed medical examiner Dr Kay Scarpetta.
Based on Patricia Cornwell’s bestselling book series, Scarpetta brings Kidman into a world of high-stakes autopsies, chilling investigations, and a career-defining case that refuses to stay buried.
Her character, known for her precision and unwavering dedication to victims, is drawn back into a decades-old mystery as a serial killer resurfaces.
Set across two timelines, the series traces Scarpetta’s beginnings in the late ’90s as Chief Medical Examiner and her present-day return to her hometown, where she must solve a gruesome new murder.
Alongside the forensics, the story digs deep into her personal life, including her tense relationship with her sister Dorothy Farinelli, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, and long-standing grudges that threaten to dismantle everything Scarpetta has rebuilt.
The cast also features Bobby Cannavale as Detective Pete Marino, Simon Baker as FBI profiler Benton Wesley, and Ariana DeBose as Scarpetta’s tech-savvy niece Lucy Watson.
The dual-timeline narrative is completed by Rosy McEwen, Amanda Righetti, Jake Cannavale, and Hunter Parrish, who portray younger versions of the central characters.
