Six festive Christmas movies to get you into the holiday spirit

With Christmas only a few weeks away, many have already started decorating for the holidays, but in places where the weather isn’t setting the scene ‘festively enough’, Christmas movies are here to make up for it all!

In light of how Covid-19 is threatening to impact festivities this year, video streaming sites have really stepped up their game and have already started hosting themed content to keep home-bound audiences engaged for the entirety of the festive season. 

Some of these movies are solid gold and need to be on everyone’s Christmas vibe list!

Home Alone:

There is probably no one unaware of the Christmas classic Home Alone, but for those who still need a memory boost, it involves the adventures of a kid who is left home alone ahead of Christmas, and in the brunt of all of that he is forced to deal with two burglars that are threatening his safety.

Nativity:

This comedy extravaganza involves the adventures of a Christmas hating teacher named Martin Freeman, who is tasked with curating the annual nativity play.

The Nightmare Before Christmas:

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween-Christmas classic that overtime, became a Christmas cult favorite.

It revolves around Jack Skellington, the King of Halloween Town who discovers an alternate portal leading to a world filled with snow, frolic and Christmas cheer.

The Muppet Christmas Carol:

The Muppet Christmas Carol is a 1992 Charles Dickens inspired movie focusing upon the life of Ebenezer Scrooge who lives surrounded by puppets all year round.

The Santa Clause:

The Santa Clause showcases the life of a businessman named Scott Calvin who takes on the role of Santa Clause after the jolly old man falls from his roof and injuries himself.

It’s A Wonderful Life:

It might be old but has been dubbed a Christmas must-watch for years now. The 1946 classic showcases the life of a depressed man whose suicide ideations are thwarted by his guardian angel and is later taken on a journey by the ghost of Christmas-past, Christmas-present and Christmas-yet to come.
