Kate Middleton penned an emotional note on health struggles.
The future queen, who has been recovering from cancer, took to Instagram to share the hand-written note.
On November 24, the message was shared by Kensington Palace on Instagram which featured a hand-written note by Kate.
The emotional message highlighted the importance of awareness towards growing health issues and urged people to be empathetic towards patients.
Kate wrote the note to mark the beginning of Addiction Awareness Week.
In her statement, she wrote “Addiction is not a choice, or a personal failing, but a complex mental health condition that should be met with empathy and support.”
The royal princess also shared her pride for being the patron of the Forward Trust, which supports individuals facing addiction issues.
The charity works to end the cycle of addiction and is behind the week dedicated to the campaign running from 23-30 November.
She calls to end the stigma against people battling with addiction saying the “stigma surrounding those who face addiction allows it to thrive behind closed doors, impacting families and communities, and ultimately ruining lives.”
The Princess of Wales called for people to join the conversation saying “together we can bring addiction and the harm it causes out of the shadows.”
