Duffer Brothers raised the stakes as the Stranger Things fifth season finale is approaching.
The Final two-hour episode of the sequel is set to release on December 31, at 350+ locations across the U.S. and Canada.
The first four episodes of the final season will premiere on Netflix on November 26.
Addressing Reuters, Matt Duffer revealed, “We sort of modelled it ('Stranger Things') after 'Game of Thrones.' We like the idea of scaling out or scaling up in sort of the way that movie sequels would.”
“People have a real connection to these characters; they’ve been with us on this journey for 10 years now,” Ross added.
He further continued that ‘fans deserve a conclusion’ as people want to see Stranger Things come to an end.
The showrunner brothers pointed out one thing they wanted to increase to the next level each season, which was visual effects.
The finale followed the original cast, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, alongside Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper and other actors reprised their roles from previous seasons.
The co-creators felt overwhelmed as they were saying goodbye to the series.
For British actor Millie Bobby Brown, who played the main character since she was 12 years old, finishing the final season was “emotional” and “nostalgic” for her and her co-stars.
“The last day we were very present though. It was a very sweet day,” the Damsel actor expressed.
It is worth mentioning that the tale's finale was delayed for two years due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes.
