Saturday Night Live’s cold open this week targets the chaos unfolding in American politics these days, with Donald Trump’s connections and friendship with Jeffrey Epstein coming to light.

The President of the United States has maintained his stance and lack of involvement with the convicted sex offender despite the new evidence that is trickling out, and the sketch comedy show is mocking it.

In the skit, set at the White House, the White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt (played by Ashley Padilla), begins by obviously and sarcastically deflecting everything.

"There was no news this week, nothing happening with the president, no weird information was revealed!" she insisted to reporters later adding, “if anything, his crime was loving too much, and possibly too young."

At a later point, Trump (portrayed by James Austin Johnson) walks in and insists that he is hiding nothing, just enough to make people extremely suspicious, later talking about the heaps of photographic evidence of him being close with the pedophile.

Reporters also asked him to defend the things that came out in some of the 20,000 emails, which contain some very incriminating and shocking claims, in response to which the actor stated that they would be releasing the Epstein files.

Was Donald Trump ever on ‘Saturday Night Live’?

Yes, Trump has hosted the show twice, with the first time being in in 2004 and the second in 2015.
