Kate Middleton’s highly anticipated Christmas carol service could face an unexpected distraction this year, and it has nothing to do with Prince Harry or Meghan Markle.
The Princess of Wales is gearing up for her fourth annual Royal Carols: Together at Christmas event at Westminster Abbey, a festive tradition she launched in 2021 to honour community heroes across the UK.
The concert, held each December, has quickly become a highlight of the royal calendar and a major showcase of Kate’s growing role within the monarchy.
But while the evening typically puts the spotlight firmly on the future Queen, two other royals could unintentionally steal attention this year: Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Both daughters of the disgraced Andrew have attended previous years, with Beatrice appearing regularly.
However, with Andrew’s scandals dominating headlines for months, and unprecedented scrutiny falling on his daughters, their presence could shift focus away from Kate’s event and back onto the family's ongoing turmoil.
As non-working royals, Beatrice and Eugenie have found themselves photographed and analysed more than ever before.
