Prince William and Kate Middleton's ‘tough’ call to ban mobile phones for their children has earned high praise from parenting icon Jo Frost, better known as TV’s Supernanny.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are said to enforce a strict no-phone rule at home for Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.

The decision became public last week when Prince William revealed during an interview in Brazil that George may only get a limited-access device after starting secondary school which is a topic he admitted has become “tense” in the household.

But according to Jo Frost, the couple are doing exactly the right thing. Speaking to Express.co.uk, the global parenting expert applauded the Waleses for choosing connection over convenience.

“William and Kate’s no-phone rule is a wonderful example of conscious, connected parenting,” Frost said.

“Setting boundaries, even when they’re tough, helps kids develop imagination, communication skills and emotional intelligence without constant digital interference.”

Frost added that the royal couple are modelling the kind of mindful leadership every family can learn from.

William and Catherine have long been praised for prioritising their children’s emotional wellbeing, even relocating to Windsor in 2022 to give the young royals more privacy.

William says the pair believe in complete honesty with their kids, adding: “We talk about everything, the good and the bad. There’s no rulebook for being a parent.”
