Taylor Momsen finally exposes why she left ‘Gossip Girl’

American actress Taylor Momsen has finally revealed why she left the hit show Gossip Girl mid-season.

The actress starred as Jennifer "Jenny" Humphrey on the show that ran from 2007 to 2012 starring Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley.

The 32-year-old starred on the show as Dan's younger sister and left the show in the middle of season 4.

While speaking on Call Her Daddy podcast, Taylor finally addressed the departure.

“I kind of just Irish-dipped. I just wasn't on the script the next week.”, she said.

Taylor said she did not inform her co-stars when she left the show.

She said “They all knew I was making music. They all knew I had a band.”

The singer, who is the member of The Pretty Reckless band, said she was passionate about starting a career in music which made her more sure about leaving the show.

The actress said leaving the show “was an easy decision for me” however, “to actually get outta a contract was not easy.”

The Spy School star revealed she would play songs for people during shoots but no one knew how serious she was.
