Pedro Pascal, Halsey, Rachel Zegler and other celebrities who were actively supporting the American politician, Zohran Mamdani for the mayoral race celebrated the news of him being elected on Tuesday, November 4, as soon as the results were out.
The Muslim immigrant, who is a democratic socialist, won the title of Mayor of New York with more than 1,036,051 ballots cast in his favour, according to The Associated Press.
The big names from the Hollywood took to social media and shared their happiness with their family, friends, and fans.
Pedro Pascal, who lives in Los Angeles, California and shares a very strong bond with New York City, a place he feels at home, celebrated as he took to Instagram and posted a story in which he re-shared a post of the new mayor and added many praying emojis to the update.
Pedro also previously urged his followers to vote as he posted a picture of Zohran with the hashtag: “#NYCMAYOR #VOTE.”
Second in line is Halsey, who is currently busy with her Back to Badlands tour, also took some time out to post a story on her Instagram in which she penned, "I just got off stage from an amazing show and Zohran Mamdani is mayor of New York and I am not gonna be able to sleep, I'm too alive!
Gracie Abrams, who is known for her song That's So True, also chimed in as she disclosed in her story that she is legit screaming and gushed, "I keep getting chills over and over."
Some musicians also supported the elected candidate in the comment section of the post he made to celebrate his achievement as Clairo commented a fire emoji and Lizzy McAlpine cheered for the Mayor, "Yayyyy."
Rachel Zegler, who is very vocal when it comes to her political views also wrote a heartwarming message for the head of a town, "He's home!"
Another American singer, King Princess also added a comment as she confessed that the good news should be acknowledged and calls for a festive occasion, "I think we should throw a party?"
For the unversed, Zohran is a fan of Taylor Swift, who is soon to get married to her longtime lover, Travis Kelce.
When asked to describe his campaign in three songs, the Mayor named Taylor’s Only the Young, Hate It or Love It by The Game featuring 50 Cent, and Right Above It by Lil Wayne featuring Drake.
