Reese Witherspoon has shed many tears over the unfairness and mistreatment her longtime friend, Jennifer Aniston, has had to go through.
Witherspoon got candid about her decades-long friendship with Aniston, revealing that public misconceptions about the Friends alum have often left her in tears.
During a chat on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the Legally Blonde star said Aniston is “not who people think she is,” insisting that her longtime friend isn’t bitter or hung up on her past.
“I’ve cried in one of our interviews because I was like, I just think people are so unfair sometimes that they think they know her,” Witherspoon admitted, adding that Aniston “isn’t holding onto old things” despite what tabloids have portrayed for years.
The Oscar winner noted that while Aniston has “been through her own stuff” and has every reason to be guarded, she remains open-hearted and resilient.
When host Dax Shepard asked if she was referring to Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt, Witherspoon quickly shut down the speculation, saying, “No. She’s doing great.”
The two actresses have been close friends for nearly 25 years, first meeting when Witherspoon guest-starred as Rachel Green’s sister on Friends.
Their unbreakable bond has since carried from the sitcom set to real life, and it’s safe to say Reese has always had Jen’s back.
