Billie Eilish made her way to the Wall Street Journal magazine’s 2025 Innovator Awards, where she announced major donations.
The What Was I Made For? singer was honoured with the 'Music Innovator Award' and during her acceptance speech, she called out billionaires that don’t make philanthropic efforts.
"We're in a time right now where the world is really really bad and really dark and people need empathy and help more than kind of ever, especially in our country" the Academy Award winner said, adding that those that have the means to support and give to others should do so.
Billie questioned, "I love you all but there's a few people in here that have a lot more money than me and if you're a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?" ending her speech with a playful "give your money away, shorties".
The late-night show host Stephen Colbert introduced the 23-year-old by revealing that she was giving away $11.5 million from her Hit Me Hard And Soft Tour proceeds to help the climate crisis and food equity issues.
Notably, other honourees included Spike Lee, George Lucas, the Severance director Ben Stiller and beauty mogul Hailey Bieber.
