Elijah Wood, who famously portrayed Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings, left fans speechless with his heartwarming surprise.
The 44-year-old actor recently made an unexpected appearance at a wedding in Hobbiton, the location in New Zealand where the iconic film series was shot.
In a video shared on Hobbiton’s official TikTok, Wood can be seen quietly arriving on set with a small film crew, sending the bride and groom into utter shock.
“Oh my God!” they exclaimed as the crowd erupted in disbelief.
The heartwarming moment saw guests gasp as they realised the surprise guest was none other than Frodo Baggins himself.
Dressed casually in a jacket, jeans, and sneakers, Wood quipped, “This is amazing — and everyone is dressed as hobbits!”
He later posed for photos with the overjoyed couple, who had fully embraced the Middle-earth spirit in their hobbit-inspired attire.
“Thank you so much for coming,” the groom said.
The surprise appearance comes 26 years after director Peter Jackson began filming The Fellowship of the Ring in Matamata, now a world-famous destination for fans of the beloved fantasy saga.
The Lord of the Rings is a trilogy of epic fantasy adventure films inspired by the classic novel by English author J.R.R. Tolkien.
The three movies, The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Two Towers (2002), and The Return of the King (2003), share the same titles as the original volumes of Tolkien’s legendary work.
